Welcome to Down River Labrador Retrievers. We are a small family kennel located in Mount Airy Maryland. We have one goal which is to breed beautiful "English" Labrador Retrievers which conform to the breed standard AND are able to perform their intended role, which is to hunt! In the history of the Labrador breed, there has only been 80 Labradors that achieved both the AKC designations of "Champion" in the show ring and "Master Hunter" in the field. Our foundation girl "Gracie" has five Master Hunter/Champions in her immediate pedigree along with achieving a Senior Hunter title herself by 18 months. We'd like to thank Redmark Kennels in Austin Texas for breeding Gracie & developing Gracie's sire, Champion/Master Hunter "Jett". We'd also like to thank our training partner, Up River Retrievers from Church Hill Maryland for doing a excellent job getting Gracie to her Senior Hunter title at 18 months.
